Congratulations and Good Luck!

The National VGA wants to congratulate and wish Bryana Nguyen of Maryland good luck at the US Jr Open. Her score of 73 was the lowest score out of 40 players 18 Years and under at US Jr Open Qualifier in Union Town Ohio. Besides being a medalist at the qualifier, she also was accepted into the First Tee Advanced Golf Academy for a week in Monterey CA. Out of hundreds applications from all over the world, The First Tee pick 8 girls and 16 Boys to go to Monterey CA for a week of extensive golf workout. All expense is paid by the First Tee. You will be able to see her skills at the National VGA Tournament in August as well!

August 13-15th will mark the 7th Annual National VGA Tournament in Las Vegas, NV.

 

This year has been forecasted as the year of the Ladies. There is expected to be the highest attendance of women since the National VGA tournament has been active. Tram Nguyen from Portland will be heading the womens’ program this year for the National Tournament and we all are thrilled to have her on board.

 

Last year everyone was shocked when 12 year old Kristin Le took the B Flight championship with scores of 78 & 82. Raymond Ho 3‐peated as the National A Flight Champion. The AGA – Asian Golf Association of Southern California also took home its 3rd National Team Championship as well.

 

As new VGA organizations and clubs are being formed, we want to welcome the Chicago VGA, OVGA – Oregon, NEVGA – New England and Seattle VGA.

 

We also look forward to seeing the brothers and sisters from Canada. Alberta VGA, Toronto VGA and word has it on the street that Vancouver VGA will be in attendance as well.

 

This year there will be some changes in the scoring format and verification of tee boxes for flights and handicaps. We will have 4 flights including a “Masters” flight for those 40 years and older.
